Our company (the Songiol Agricultural Corporation) is in South Korea and produces 2.5 tons of king oyster mushrooms each day all the year round. We have established eco-friendly production facilities, and since 2002 the mushrooms have been marketed both at home and abroad.
King oyster mushrooms are attracting keen interest in the food market for their abundant nutrition of various kinds. Having a low water content, they can be stored for a long period of time. The mushrooms are highly recognized by many customers as being good for dieting. They have a good taste, as well as large amounts of fiber and other nutrients, including the following:
- Vitamin C (good for the skin and dieting)
- Vitamin B6 (rare in other kinds of mushrooms)
- Vitamin B12 (good against pernicious anemia)
- - Essential amino acids (9 out of 10 types)
Our company has invested handsomely in our production facilities. It can boast an ultramodern air-conditioning system, very hygienic culture rooms, automatic regulators for temperature and humidity, automatic pollution controllers, etc.
Among our overseas markets are included America, Canada, Europe, Japan, and Australia. Our exports are increasing constantly, due to the good quality and the safety aspect of our mushrooms. They are obtaining greater and greater reputation among buyers and consumers abroad.
"Our company operates according to three main principles: food safety, high quality, and production in a pollution-free environment. " These are the words of Mr. Kim Il-joong, the CEO of the company. And he adds: "With the aim of maintaining the good quality of our mushrooms, we closely monitor the whole production process."
Mr. Kim is also the CEO of MushM. Co., Ltd., which is the federation of king oyster mushroom producers in Korea and for which the producers jointly market the mushrooms in foreign markets. This company's annual production capacity is up to 15 kilotons, and in 2012 it exported more than 3 kilotons of the mushrooms.
Apart from king oyster mushrooms, the Songiol Agricultural Corporation exports many other kinds of mushrooms, including oyster mushrooms, enoki mushrooms, shiitake mushrooms, and beech mushrooms. Having undergone special treatment, these mushrooms can be forwarded to any destination in the world with their freshness maintained intact. |
